I’m a college lecturer, retained firefighter, and author of Perimenopause – The A–Z Guide for Us Idiots.
I came to this work by realising how little I understood about perimenopause and how much that lack of understanding affected people at home and at work.
What I found was a gap.
There is plenty of medical information available.
Very little that explains day‑to‑day impact.
And almost nothing aimed at helping partners, leaders, and mixed‑gender teams respond well.
I’m not a clinician, and I don’t diagnose or treat.
My work focuses on translating lived experience into practical understanding, helping people communicate better, lead more effectively, and reduce unnecessary pressure at work.
This work is about awareness, behaviour, and support, not labels, judgement, or ticking boxes.
