The Book
Perimenopause – The A–Z Guide for Us Idiots
A straight‑talking guide written for partners and anyone who wants to understand what’s actually happening — and how to support properly.
The book focuses on:
everyday impact
honest language
practical understanding
humour as a way in, not a way out
It’s increasingly used as a conversation starter in workplaces and leadership sessions.
The Podcast
Coming Soon - We Didn’t Get the Manual is an honest, no‑filter podcast about perimenopause, partners, and everyday life at home, at work, and in the conversations that often go wrong.
Hosted by Sam Anderson, educator and author of Perimenopause: The A–Z Guide for Us Idiots, alongside Sarah Millican co‑host, each 30‑minute episode focuses on one real‑world word or experience and unpacks what’s actually happening, why it feels so hard, and what genuinely helps.
No medical waffle.
No pretending it’s easy.
Just real conversation, plain language, humour, the occasional swear word and a focus on not taking everything personally.
Media
I contribute to conversations about perimenopause from a partner and workplace perspective, focusing on real‑world impact rather than clinical detail.
My media work explores:
what men need to understand
why so many conversations go wrong
how perimenopause shows up at home and at work
allyship without minimising or overstepping
I’m available for interviews, written commentary, podcasts, and panels.
Community & Events
Alongside workplace education, I take part in community‑based conversations and free public events designed to improve understanding of perimenopause and reduce isolation.
This includes:
facilitated discussions and talks
free webinars delivered in partnership with community and healthcare organisations
collaborative sessions with NHS and wellbeing partners
These events focus on open conversation, practical understanding, and shared learning, rather than clinical advice or treatment.
Community work supports wider awareness and access, sitting alongside — but separate from — paid workplace education.
